Simple Strawberry Watermelon Smoothie
Are you looking for a refreshing summer beverage? Then I have what you need! I made a strawberry watermelon smoothie that will chill you down. This Simple Strawberry Watermelon Smoothie is my favorite summertime smoothie! The sweet berry flavor pairs perfectly with the juicy watermelon. It’s frosty cold and a touch of lime makes it even more refreshing. The simple combination of strawberry, watermelon, and banana never gets old and it’s popular with kids and adults.
INGREDIENTS TO MAKE IT
HOW TO MAKE THIS SIMPLE STRAWBERRY WATERMELON SMOOTHIE
Add the watermelon, strawberry, banana, yogurt, coconut milk, lime juice, and honey into your professional blender.
Cover the blender, blend for thirty seconds, and use the tamper if needed. Then increase the speed for an additional one minute. You can add more coconut milk if the smoothie is too thick. Make sure you do a taste test and adjust for sweetness. The amount of honey may vary depending on how sweet the watermelon is. You may not need honey at all.
WHAT CAN YOU PREPARE AHEAD?
When the fruit is in season and plentiful chop the fresh fruit into small chunks. Transfer the chopped fruit to a lined parchment paper cookie tray in one layer and freeze. Once the fruit chunks are frozen transfer to a zip-lock bag and store in the freezer. You don’t need to thaw before blending. This is a great way to prepare ahead and always have fresh fruit frozen ready for making smoothies.
HOW TO STORE THIS SMOOTHIE?
Simple Strawberry Watermelon Smoothie is best enjoyed right away, but if you have leftovers here are some storage suggestions:
Refrigerate: If you need to store your smoothie, transfer it to an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Make sure to give the smoothie a good stir or shake before drinking, as it may separate as it sits.
Freeze: You can also freeze your smoothie in an airtight container or freezer bag for up to 3 months. Thaw it in the refrigerator overnight and give it a good shake or stir before drinking. You can also freeze the smoothie in popsicle molds and your kids will go crazy for these popsicles.
