Creamy Tomato Bisque Soup
One of life’s pleasures is a delicious bowl of Creamy Tomato Bisque Soup packed with a rich tomato flavor. Keep in mind I’m not talking about the canned soup that we all grew up on. I’m talking about a creamy tomato soup that will have you moaning and groaning with every spoonful. This Creamy Tomato Bisque Soup uses chicken broth and fire-roasted canned tomatoes along with aromatic vegetables to create a flavorful soup. It’s easy to prepare and ready in just thirty minutes.
INGREDIENTS
- Butter
- Onion
- Carrot
- Red Pepper
- Garlic
- Basil
- Thyme
- Sundried Tomato
- Tomato Paste
- Fire Roasted Diced Tomato
- Chicken Broth
- Heavy Cream
HOW DO YOU PREPARE CREAMY TOMATO BISQUE?
Melt butter in a medium saucepan. Add the onions, carrots, and red peppers and saute until the vegetables begin to soften.
Add the garlic, basil, thyme, tomato paste, and sundried tomatoes. Stir until the garlic and thyme are fragrant.
Add the cans of fire-roasted tomatoes and the chicken stock. Bring the soup to a simmer and partially cover the pan. Simmer for 20 minutes.
Use an emersion blender to make the soup smooth and add the heavy cream.
Taste to see if the seasoning (salt and pepper) needs adjusting.

HOW TO STORE AND REHEAT LEFTOVERS?
Leftovers are good in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Be sure to store in an airtight container and only reheat as much as you plan on eating at any one time. To reheat in a pot over medium heat on the stove until hot. You may need to add a splash of water or broth if the soup is too thick.
CAN TOMATO BISQUE SOUP BE FROZEN?
- Allow the soup to cool completely before freezing by bringing it to room temperature.
- Then, decide if you are going to freeze one large batch or a few smaller ones.
- Using a ladle, pour the desired amount of soup into a freezer bag.
- Leave about an inch or two of headspace to allow for expansion, and then seal the bag.
- Label and date the freezer bag, and then store it in the freezer for up to 3 months.
- When ready to use thaw in the refrigerator overnight and reheat.
