Homemade Apple Cinnamon Cake
This delicious Homemade Apple Cinnamon Cake gives you made-from-scratch bragging rights, while you throw it together in three easy steps. Cinnamon, apples, and walnuts are brought together for a warm treat to be paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This really easy recipe will be a family favorite.
Ingredients You’ll Need to make it:
- Flour
- Sugar
- Baking Soda
- Cinnamon
- Apples
- Vegetable Oil or Butter
- Eggs
- Walnuts (optional)
WHAT ARE THE BEST APPLES TO USE?
Apples that are firm are ideal for baking. Avoid soft or mealy apples. For depth of flavor, it’s best to bake with a mix of sweet and tart apples. For this fresh apple cake, I usually use about 3 Honeycrisp apples and 2 Granny Smith apples.
HOW TO PREPARE HOMEMADE CINNAMON APPLE CAKE?
First, you want to combine all the dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl including the four, sugar, baking soda, and cinnamon. Then combine all the wet ingredients including the eggs and butter/oil. Combine wet and dry ingredients together and then add the apples.
Now at this point in the recipe, you have to trust the process. The batter will be sticky and kinda hard to mix together. But just do the best you can and it will come together.
Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish and get the oven preheating at 350 degrees F. Pour the batter into the baking dish. Make sure you spread it around evenly in all the corners of the pan.
Bake the apple cake in the oven for 45 minutes at 350 degrees F.
You will not be disappointed with this recipe. This is my go-to super simple dessert if you have unexpected guests show up at your door. This comes together in an hour and it’s a crowd- pleaser they will be hounding you for the recipe.
