Can you think of a more delicious pairing than pizza and pasta on one plate? I definitely can not! This Easy Pizza Tortellini Skillet is a hearty and super delicious recipe! Of course, my kids love this one. Cheese-filled tortellini covered in marinara sauce with pepperoni and mozzarella cheese is heaven! This recipe comes together quickly on those busy weeknights. I also love that it cooks in one skillet and is ready in about 30 minutes!

INGREDIENTS

HOW DO YOU PREPARE EASY PIZZA TORTELLINI SKILLET?

Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat and season with salt, pepper, onion, garlic, and Italian seasoning.

Add some pepperoni (1/3 cup of pepperoni). Let cook until the pepperoni starts getting crisp. Drain grease from the ground beef and pepperoni.

Add the marinara sauce and cream cheese. Stir well incorporating the cream cheese.  Add frozen tortellini. Stir well, cover, and cook on medium-low heat for about 5 minutes or until tortellini are cooked.

Stir half the cheese into the mixture and the other half top with shredded cheese (I used Mozzarella and Monterey jack cheese). Sprinkle a few more pepperoni on top.

Cover the pan and reduce the heat to low until the cheese has melted. Serve immediately and enjoy!

PRO COOKING TIPS:

  • I use frozen tortellini because it’s easy to keep some in the freezer but fresh tortellini from the would work too.
  • Shred your own cheese for a richer flavor and it will melt nicer!
  • Mini pepperoni would work well for this recipe too.
  • You can add any of your favorite pizza toppings such as Italian sausage, mushrooms, and peppers.

Storage – Place leftovers in an airtight container and keep them in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days. 

Freezing – You can freeze this dish, place the leftovers in a zip-lock freezer bag and store them in the freezer for up to three months.

Reheating – Thaw first if frozen in the refrigerator overnight. Reheat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until hot.
