WHAT ARE PORK COUNTRY-STYLE RIBS?

Country-style pork ribs are not actually ribs. Country-style pork ribs are actually cuts of pork from the shoulder/butt area of the pig. This is the same meat we use to make pulled pork sandwiches. The meat is cut in such a way that it looks like ribs and they are boneless. This cut of meat has a good fat-to-meat ratio making it so tender, and absolutely mouthwatering.

WHAT ARE BEEF COUNTRY-STYLE RIBS?

Country-style beef ribs come from the muscular, shoulder blade near the loin. This cut is made when a chuck eye steak is cut in half, lengthwise and they are usually boneless. But sometimes, there may be bone from the shoulder blade, not the rib. These beef country-style ribs are extremely flavorful and easy to cook and they are inexpensive.

HOW TO MAKE THE BEST BAKED COUNTRY-STYLE RIBS?

Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. Line your baking dish with aluminum foil.

Combine all the seasoning ingredients in a large bowl. Add the ribs to a large bowl and sprinkle the seasoning while tossing and coating the ribs. Arrange the ribs in a single layer in the baking dish and cover with aluminum foil.

SEASONED OVEN BAKED COUNTRY STYLE RIBS

In a small bowl combine your favorite barbecue sauce and the honey. Remove the ribs from the oven and baste them in the barbecue sauce. You may need to drain the excess liquid out of the pan prior to basting the ribs. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil again and place back in the oven for another hour.

RIBS SMOOTHERED IN BARBECUE SAUCE

After the final hour check for tenderness. If tender to your liking smother in another coat of barbecue sauce if you have any leftovers. Serve over a bed of mashed potatoes and garnish with green onions.

Enjoy!

WHAT DO YOU SERVE WITH COUNTRY RIBS?

Another perfect accompaniment for this dish is my Balsamic Brussels Sprouts. Barbecued pork or beef can be shredded and topped with a serving of delicious Creamy Cole Slaw. The cool crunch is perfect to go along with the tender pork or beef.

HOW TO STORE AND REHEAT LEFTOVERS?

As with all tender meats, the leftovers are better the next day. You can keep them in the fridge, in an airtight container, for 3-4 days. Reheat them gently, covered, in one-minute intervals until heated through.
