Amazing Crispy Chicken Sandwiches

If you’ve been craving fried chicken sandwiches we’ve got you covered with this delicious chicken sandwich recipe. It’s super crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside and loaded with flavor. In my opinion, this is so much better than anything you would get at McDonald's or Burger King ( yuk) and super easy to make at home!

Ingredients

  • 3 Chicken Breasts (spit in half into cutlets)
  • 1 Cup Vegetable Oil (for frying)

Chicken Marinade:

  • 3 Tbsp Sour Cream
  • 1/2 Cup Milk
  • 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 3 Tbsp Hot Sauce
  • 1 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 Tsp Cornstarch
  • 1 Tsp Salt

Crispy Breading:

  • 1 Cup Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Cup Flour
  • 1 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tsp Onion Powder
  • ½ Tsp Salt
  • ½ Tsp Pepper
  • 2 Tsp Corn Starch
  • ½ Tsp Cayenne Optional

Instructions

  • Prepare the marinade and combine the sour cream, milk, hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, cornstarch, salt, and lemon juice. Whisk the ingredients together.
  • Add the chicken breasts (cutlets) into a zip-lock bag and pour the marinade over the chicken. Marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight is best for maximum flavor.
  • Prepare the crispy breadcrumb mixture. Combine the panko, flour, garlic powder, onion powder, cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Add in the Cayenne if you like them spicey.
  • Heat your cooking oil in a frying pan. Remove the chicken from the marinade and press the chicken into the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Fry on each side until they are golden brown with an internal temperature of at least 165 degrees F. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the proper internal temperature has been reached.
  • Drain them on a wire rack to remove any access oil and to keep the chicken crispy. Add the spicy mayo sauce to make this amazing!
