Baked Honey Sesame Chicken

This Baked Honey Sesame Chicken is the simplest takeout-style baked Asian Chicken and it's so easy to make at home. Tender pieces of honey sesame chicken breast are covered in a sweet garlic sauce.  Serve with rice for a delicious meal any night of the week.

Ingredients

  • 4 Chicken breasts ( boneless, skinless )
  • 1 cup Cornstarch
  • 3 Eggs
  • Salt ( to taste)
  • Black pepper ( to taste)
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 3/4 cup Honey
  • 3/4 cup Soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup Ketchup
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup Rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tsp Garlic Minced
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325 F.
  • Cut the chicken breasts into bite sized pieces and season them with salt and pepper.
  • Place the corn starch in a medium sized bowl.
  • Crack the eggs into a separate bowl and slightly beat them.
  • Dip the chicken into the cornstarch then into the eggs.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the vegetable oil and cook the chicken until browned. Fry just until crispy on the outside.
  • Place the browned chicken into a 9x13 baking dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, garlic and 1 tbsp cornstarch.
  • Pour the mixture over the chicken.
  • Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
