Equipment

  • Large Pitcher

Ingredients

Blueberry Syrup:

  • 4 Cups Blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 Cups Water
  • 1 Cup Sugar

Lemonade Ingredients:

  • 8 Cups Water (club soda or sparkling water)
  • 1 Cup Lemon Juice (fresh squeezed)
  • ½ Cup Sugar (optional: if needed)

Instructions

Option 1: Blender Method

  • Start by blending 4 cups of blueberries in a blender until smooth. Strain the blended blueberries through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth, removing the pulp and keeping the liquid.
  • Pour the blueberry liquid into a large pitcher. Add 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice, and 8 cups of water (you can use regular water, club soda, or sparkling water for a fizzy twist).
  • Stir the mixture well and taste. Adjust the flavors to your liking by adding more sugar, lemon juice, or water if needed.
  • Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices and fresh blueberries for a refreshing touch.

Option 2: Cooked Syrup Method

  • In a saucepan, combine 4 cups of blueberries, 2 cups of water, and 1 cup of sugar. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Cook the mixture for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the blueberries have broken down and the syrup has thickened slightly. Strain the blueberry syrup through a fine mesh sieve, discarding the solids. Allow the syrup to cool completely.
  • Once cooled, add the blueberry syrup (about 2 1/2 cups of syrup) to a large pitcher along with 1 cup of fresh lemon juice and 8 cups of water (or club soda for a sparkling version).
  • Stir well and taste. Adjust the flavors as needed by adding more sugar, lemon juice, or water.
