Ingredients

  • 1 pound Green Beans (fresh)(trimmed)(blanched)
  • 2 Tbsp Butter
  • 1 Onion (sliced)
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 Tsp Dijon Mustard
  • 2 Tsp Lemon Juice
  • ½ Cup Parmesan Cheese (grated)
  • Red Chili Flakes (to taste)
  • Salt & Black Ground Pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Green Beans: Blanch the trimmed green beans in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Immediately transfer them to an ice bath to stop the cooking process, then drain and set aside.
  • Sauté the Onion: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the onions are soft and translucent.
  • Add the Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
  • Combine the Green Beans: Add the blanched green beans to the skillet, stirring to combine with the onion and garlic mixture. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the green beans are heated through and slightly crispy.
  • Season and Finish: Stir in the Dijon mustard and lemon juice, mixing well to coat the green beans.
  • Season with salt and ground black pepper to taste. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
  • Add Parmesan Cheese and Red Chili Flakes: Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese and Red Chili Flakes over the green beans, stirring until the cheese is melted and evenly distributed.
  • Serve: Transfer the garlic-infused sautéed green beans to a serving dish and enjoy as a delicious, cheesy, and healthy side.
