Easy Oven Baked Ribs

Easy Oven Baked Ribs (Fall Off the Bone) are the perfect meal for any occasion. I am talking about a lazy Sunday afternoon or the next 4th of July Celebration. We don't all have access to fancy grills and smokers so we the less fortunate have to improvise. But to be completely honest I like cooking ribs in the oven because it’s super easy and they always turn out so moist. These dry-rubbed ribs coated in your favorite barbecue sauce are one of our favorite easy dinners for summer!

Ingredients

  • 2 Racks Baby Back Pork Ribs
  • Salt and Pepper (to taste)

Rib Rub:

  • 2 Tbsp Paprika
  • 3 Tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 Tsp Cumin
  • 1 Tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 Tsp Dried Oregano

Barbecue Sauce:

  • 1 Cup Barbecue Sauce (use your favorite)
  • 4 Tsp Honey
  • Parsley (garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Ribs:

  • You will need to remove the membrane since it is tough and chewy once cooked. You can do it yourself or ask the butcher at the store to do it for you. To do it yourself gently slide a knife under the membrane, and then use your fingers to pull the membrane away from the bones. If it is slippery or difficult to remove, use a paper towel to take hold of it and pull.

How to Prepare the Rib Rub?

  • Combine all the ingredients for the dry rub. You will have enough dry rub for both slabs of ribs.

How to Prepare the Ribs for the Oven?

  • Preheat your oven to 300 degrees F.
  • Prepare a long piece of aluminum foil. Place the rib on the foil and season both sides with salt and pepper. I do not put salt and pepper in the rub recipe because it's too easy to over-salt the ribs and ruin the meal.
  • Place the rib rub seasoning mixture all over the ribs on both sides. Tightly wrap them in the foil and place them on a large baking sheet.
  • Bake for three hours. Try not to open the oven or disturb the ribs until the three hours have passed.

Finishing the Ribs:

  • After three hours remove the ribs from the oven. Open the foil-wrapped ribs and brush on the barbecue/honey mixture. Place the ribs back in the oven leave the foil open and bake for another 5-10 minutes to carmelize the barbecue sauce. Watch it carefully you don't want the barbecue sauce to burn.
  • Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
