Equipment

  • Charcoal or Gas Grill
  • Bamboo/Wooden or Metal Skewers

Ingredients

Required Protein:

  • 2 lbs. Chicken Heart

Marinate Ingredients:

  • 4 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 4 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tsp Garlic (minced)
  • 2 Tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 2 Tsp Oregano
  • ½ Tsp Salt
  • ¼ Tsp Black Pepper

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chicken Hearts: Rinse the chicken hearts thoroughly and pat them dry with paper towels. Trim any excess fat or connective tissue.
  • Mix the Marinade: In a bowl, combine the olive oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Whisk the ingredients together until well combined.
  • Marinate the Chicken Hearts: Place the cleaned chicken hearts in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring each heart is well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to infuse.
  • Skewer the Chicken Hearts (Optional): If you prefer, thread the marinated chicken hearts onto skewers. This makes them easier to grill and turn. If you're using skewers, soak them in water for about 30 minutes to prevent them from burning.
  • Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  • Grill the Chicken Hearts: Place the chicken hearts on the preheated grill. Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through and slightly charred. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
  • Serve and Enjoy: Remove the chicken hearts from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve them hot and enjoy!
