- 5 Cups Milk
- 1 Cup Rice (use your favorite type)
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Cream of Wheat (instant kind)
Optional Toppings:
- Cinnamon
- Chopped Walnuts
- Raisins
- Chocolate Chips
In a medium saucepan heat five cups of milk over medium heat.
Rinse the rice with cold water and add to the milk.
Add one cup of sugar and stir everything to combine.
Bring the milk, sugar, and rice mixture to a boil.
Lower the heat and cover the saucepan. Simmer on low for 20-25 minutes. But depending on the type of rice you use follow the cooking instructions on the packaging.
Once the rice is cooked through remove the cover and add one tablespoon instant cream of wheat hot cereal. Stir to combine and continue to simmer for an additional 2 minutes, The Instant cream of wheat will slightly thicken the rice pudding.
Add your favorite topping including raisins, cinnamon, chopped walnuts, or chocolate chips. Serve immediately and enjoy!
