The Best Marinated Grilled Salmon
This is my go-to recipe for juicy, flavorful grilled salmon. I use a simple marinade that soaks in all the right flavors. The grill gives it a perfect smoky finish. It’s easy, healthy, and always a hit at my table.

- 2 pounds Salmon (preferably wild caught)
- ¼ cup Olive Oil
- ⅓ cup Soy Sauce (low-sodium)
- 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice
- 1 teaspoon Lemon Zest (about one med lemon)
- 2 tablespoons Honey
- 1 tablespoon Parsley (chopped)
- 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
- ¼ teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
Make the marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, lemon zest, honey, parsley, garlic, and black pepper.
Marinate the salmon: Place the salmon in a large zip-top bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the salmon, making sure it’s fully coated. Cover or seal and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
Preheat the grill: Heat your grill to medium-high (about 400°F). Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
Grill the salmon: Remove the salmon from the marinade and let the excess drip off. Place it flesh down on the grill. Cook for about 5–6 minutes per side, depending on the thickness, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and is cooked through. I like to flip the salmon on some foil and add a couple pads of butter while it continues to cook on the skin side.
Serve and enjoy: Carefully remove the salmon from the grill. Garnish with extra chopped parsley or lemon slices if you like. Serve hot and enjoy!
