HOW TO MAKE HONEY GARLIC GLAZED CHICKEN WINGS?

PREPARE THE WINGS FOR THE OVEN

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

In a large bowl add the raw chicken wings. Drizzle with olive oil or bacon grease and season with salt and pepper. Use your hands and gently toss the chicken wings to coat.

Arrange chicken wings in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake chicken wings for 45 minutes or until juices run clear, turning them halfway through. The time and temperature will vary depending on your oven. You want the wings to get crispy.

WINGS PREPARED FOR THE OVEN

PREPARE THE HONEY GARLIC GLAZE

In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, bring honey, sesame oil, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and chili powder to a rapid boil. Simmer and stir occasionally, for 3-4 minutes.

Remove the saucepan from the heat. Cover and set aside.

PUTTING EVERYTHING TOGETHER

Place the baked chicken wings in a large bowl. Pour the honey garlic glaze all over the wings. Use tongs to toss the chicken wings in the glaze until they are coated.

Note: If the glaze has cooled and is too thick microwave for 30 seconds internals until it’s liquidy again, then quickly pour over the chicken wings.

Serve honey garlic chicken wings immediately and sprinkle with sesame seeds as a garnish (optional).

HOW TO STORE, FREEZE, AND REHEAT LEFTOVERS?

Store

Honey Garlic Glazed Chicken Wings can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days.

Freeze

Once prepared, allow the chicken wings to cool to room temperature before transferring them to a freezer ziptop bag, removing as much air as possible before sealing. Once frozen, chicken wings can be stored for up to three months. Thaw the wings overnight in the refrigerator when ready to reheat.

Reheat

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare a baking sheet and spray it with non-stick cooking spray or you can line the baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Arrange chilled/thawed chicken wings on the baking sheet. Reheat the wings for five to six minutes on each side. If you are lazy to turn on the oven the air fryer is another option. Heat in the air fryer at 385 degrees F for 10 minutes and make sure you flip or shake your basket halfway through.

If you have a meat thermometer, test the internal temperature of the chicken wings. It should be at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
